Sustainable Palos Verdes Schools is a non-profit organization that seeks to assist schools on the Palos Verdes Peninsula become models of sustainable communities.
We want kids to learn about conservation, smart energy use, how to grow food organically and responsibly and to care for their environment on the school campus. We want them to grow up knowing that their actions and decisions have an impact on the world around them.
By learning about sustainability as part of their school life, the campus becomes an extension of the classroom. At SPVS, we believe that is all part of a 21st century education.

We work to partner with peninsula schools in the areas we call the "Four C’s":
Curriculum: helping teachers integrate sustainable concepts and ideas into the curriculum
Campus Practices & Culture: working
with schools to help them implement sustainable practices such as
composting, buying locally grown food, and using environmentally safe
cleaning products.
Community Partnerships: working with schools to develop and sustain on-going community partnerships.
Collaboration: helping
schools collaborate with the larger community (families, businesses,
government, non-profits) to create sustainable communities.
